Zinedine's career started playing for le Saint-Henri, a local club. His trainer was Robert Centenero.

1991 Zidane scored his first goal in first division, playing with the team of Cannes, in a game against Nantes He played on the French football team of Bordeaux during four seasons.

1996 Zinedine Zidane traveled to Italy where he joined Juventus, They won the National Championship title 1996/97, the Toyota Cup 1996/97 and the European Supercup 1996/97 .

1998 When France hosted the 16th World Cup , Zinedine helped his team make it through the finals and he scored two of the winning goals against Brazil in the final game.  Zinedine was awarded the price of “European Player of the Year” and the Balon d’or.

1999 Zinedine received the title of FIFA 1998 World Player of the Year.

2000 During the Euro 2000 Championship with France, Zidane was named Player of the Tournament.

2002 Zinedine Zidane started playing with the Real Madrid for a world record fee of 66 million US dollars. They won the World Club Cup that year.  

2003 He was awarded as the FIFA World Player of the Year for the Third time

2004 His international career ended after France was eliminated by Greece in the Euro 2004 quarter finals.

2005 Zinedine Zidane has said to a weekly newspaper in France that he might finish his playing career before his Real Madrid contract ends in 2007.
