Iconic and influential Italian surrealist director. His 1960 film La Dolce Vita earned the Palme d'Or at Cannes Film Festival and he became the first director to win four Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film for his features La Strada, Nights of Cabiria, 8 1/2 and Amarcord.
Family
He was married to La Strada and Nights of Cabiria actress Giulietta Masina on October 30, 1943. They had one child together and remained married until Fellini's death.
