1957 Pierce's parents divorced and he was raised by his grandparents


1964 Pierce Brosnan lived in Ireland until he moved to England


1982 One of Pierce Brosnan's first appearences on television was his role of Remington Steele, a private investigator.


1986 He was chosen to play 007, but the role went to Thimothy Dalton because Brosnan was still working in Remington Steel


1991 His wife Cassandra Harries died of ovarian cancer


1996 He was chosen as one of the most beautiful people in the world by People nMagazine


1998 Brosnan opened "Irish Dream Time", his own production company, and released the film The Nephew


1999 Brosnan was made a Freeman of Navan, Co. Meath, Ireland


2001 People magazine chose Brosnan to be the "Sexiest Man Alive" and he was also voted sixth in the Orange survey of greatest British film actors.


2003 Pierce Brosnan was given an honorary OBE by Britain's ambassador to Ireland, Stewart Eldon for his contribution to British interests.


2004 He became an American citizen,  but still plans to keep his Irish
citizenship.


2005 Brosnan,  who played the title role in four Bond films-was officially
