1995  Nathan acted on “One Life to Live” as Joey Buchanan and “Two Girls, a Girl, and a Pizza Place

1996 He  was nominated for a  Daytime Emmy award, Outstanding Younger Actor and a Soap Opera Award for Outstanding Younger Lead Actor.

1999 One of his firts appearences were small roles in the films Blast from the Past and Saving Private Ryan

2001 Nathan Fillion played the role of Captain Malcolm Reynolds on the Joss Whedon TV series "Firefly"

2002 He played the role of Caleb, a villain, on the final season of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" Nathan won a Cinescape's Faces of the Future award for his portrayal of the so very scary Caleb.   He also appears as the lead in the movie Water’s Edge playing the role of Robert, with Daniel Baldwin.
