Matthew grew up raising cattle on his family’s ranch.

1989 Matthew Fox has a Bachelor of Arts from the Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts. He majored in Economics at  Columbia University

1986 Fox was convinced to try his hand at modeling and quickly veered into an acting career.

1992 TV bit parts followed, on such hits as the popular sitcom, Wings and a starring role in the 1992 short-lived comedy, Freshmen Dorm.

1996 Chosen by People (USA) magazine as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world

1998 After less than memorable performances in made-for-television features, Fox's big break came in the late 90's with his starring role as Charlie Salinger in Party of Five. His daughter Kyle was born.

2001 Margherita gave birth to their second child Byron

2004 Upon the hit show's cancellation, the actor's career floundered, until most recently cast in the role of Jack in 2004 in the hit ABC drama, Lost in which he plays reluctant leader to a group of travelers abandoned on a deserted island, with Evangeline Lilly and Dominic Monaghan.

2005 He received an Hollywood Foreign Press Association nomination for Best Performance by an Actor In A Television Series - Drama

2006 Matthew Fox is co-starring in the Warner Bros film "We are...Marshall", about the 1970 plane crash that took the lives of almost the entire Marshall University football team. He is playing the role of coach Red Dawson, opposite Matthew Mcconaughey. It is currently filming. Release date slated for early December 2006.
