Real name: Joseph Ratzinger
Date of Birth: April 16, 1927
Place of Birth: Baviera, Germany
He is fluent in four languages.

He was the archbishop of Munich for several years, as well as perfect of the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith.

He spent his childhood in Bavaria.

During World War II, Ratzinger deserted the German Army, only to be sent to a POW camp when the Allies reached his hometown.

1962 Ratzinger served the Second Vatican Council for three years from 1962

1977 Joseph Ratzinger was elevated to cardinal by Pope Paul VI in June

1981 Cardinal Ratzinger, he was appointed prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith by Pope John Paul II

1993 He was made a Cardinal Bishop of the episcopal church of Velletri-Segni.

1995 Conservative, he has declared to be against homosexuals, communists and the marriage of priests.

2002 Joseph Ratzinger was elected Dean of the College of Cardinals becoming titular bishop of Ostia.

2005 Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger presided over the funeral of John Paul II and also presided over the Conclave in 2005.

2005 April 19th. Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was elected pope by the College of Cardinals at the Vatican.
