Date of Birth: June 16th, 1969
Place of Birth: Essone, a Parisian suburb
His mother: Librarian
His father: Assistant producer in the cinema
Bénabar loves circus, his name comes from the inverted name of the clown Barnabé.

1977 Bénabar began to play the trumpet.

1989 Bénabar started working as a trainee film production assistant and wrote and directed his firt short film. His short film José Jeannette was awarded the Prix Georges de Beauregard, the Prix du Public de Nancy and the Prix Spécial du Jury in Montréal.

1992 Bénabar wrote some of the screen plays for the comic french television series "H", that takes place at a hospital.

1994 Bénabar wrote his first songs.

1996 He created a duo, Patchol and Bénabar and they made some concerts.

1997 He met the rest of his band Bénabar and Associates: Denis Grare on sax, accordion and backing vocals, Vincent Schaeffer, playing trumpet and trombone, Pascal Vignon on the drums, Stéphane Benveniste, playing double bass.

1998 Bénabar et Associés released their first album La Petite Monnaie.

2000 They recorded the album Bénabar in October, this album was released on september 2001, and was very successful.

2002 Bénabar collaborated on an tribute album for George Brassens

2003 His album Les Risques du Métier was released, and  Bénabar appeared in several music Festivals. He was also able to open concerts for french singer Henri Salvador, with who he sang Bon Anniversaire Petit Trentenaire.

2004 He released his Live album "Live au grand Rex".

More
