Andrew Cochran is Managing Director, Maritimes, for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. He is responsible for English language news and programming on tv, radio, and online for six centres in eastern Canada.
Previously, as an independent producer he produced/directed documentaries and series for CBC, PBS, Discovery, and ZDF. Many of these programs were subsequently licensed extensively in additional territories. Early in his career he was responsible for the national morning news program, Canada AM, and afterward became executive producer of CTV National News and News Specials.
He has a Masters Degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, where he is a part-time faculty member at the Schulich School of Law. He also serves as Chair of the Advisory Committee for the School of Journalism at the University of King’s College in Halifax.
